School Activities

Activities

Students will have the opportunity to participate in many activities throughout the year (PAWS events, dances, field trips, 8th Grade End-of-the Year Carnival, etc.).  All students are expected to demonstrate appropriate school behavior.  The following guidelines and expectations have been established in order to participate in these special activities:

Academics:

  • Students must maintain passing grades in all courses.

Attendance:

  • Students must attend 90% or more of the school days/periods they are enrolled to participate in the activities.

  • Students demonstrating poor attendance habits (i.e. excessive tardies, truancies, no documentation from medical appointments, or frequent early dismissals) will be referred to administration and may be excluded from participating in the school activities.

Please Note:  Students will have the opportunity to attend Saturday School to receive credit for a day of absence.  Attending a full four-hour Saturday School session will count for (1) full day of absence.

Behavior

  • Disciplinary Saturday Schools must be served.

  • Students earning recent or multiple behavior violations resulting in administrative disciplinary action may be excluded from participation in school activities.

  • Students consistently demonstrating poor behavior may be placed on a behavior contract.

8th GRADE PROMOTION

The Promotion Ceremony is the final event of the school year for 8thgraders as their family, friends, and the Citrus Hills staff join to celebrate their promotion to high school.  All students earning a 1.5 or higher cumulative GPA will participate in the Promotion Ceremony.
